Handball action photography

Thanks to a good friend I visited the Schlecker Cup 2006 – Handball Tournament in Ehingen at Saturday for around two hours for practising action photography during a match. We had good seats in the middle of the hall directly at the playfield. The result were some nice shots (alltogether I took around 350 shots) that show the power of the players quite well. It was also a good opportunity to test both lenses and their exact behaviour while shooting in the various modes. Because of the fact I got a VIP-Ticket for this event, I was quite heavily drinking Coke Zero before and after the match and killed a huge amount of sausages and…well…coffee. All for free ofcourse. As I surely will shoot at much more sport events in the future, I realized a single foot tripod would be a really good idea.
