Interesting discussion…

I was out with my girlfriend and some friends for some italian food and we had a nice discussion about job terms and surroundings and the conclusion was: I really think that against all employer’s opinions: Surfing the web and especially using search engines doesn’t cut the effective working time per day of a employee in computer related jobs. Today you can solve problems in minutes by doing recherche using Google (or whatever) that took ages some years ago. I know of computer related companies where the use of the internet and search engines IS forbidden in the company. Total crap! There are several moments every day where Google helps me tackle problems without the need of complicated and mostly clueless hotlines. So…the use of internet at work IS useful in my opinion as long as it is used conscientious. What do you think?
