I just started to learning LUA on the PICO-8 to do some demoscene stuff and needed to create graphics for it using “modern” tools and workflows. I completely switched from Adobe Photoshop to Affinity Photo recently, even if the software still has it’s flaws and is missing some tools and parameters. I also use Timanthes in my workflow for the PICO-8, which is a pixel software that handles oldskool restrictions really well.
I created a template with the usual 128*128 pixel size for the PICO-8, including a palette file ready to use in Affinity Photo and a palette file for Timanthes.
